CO. MIDDLETOWN CT H.S. NORTH PATENTED JUNE 17 1856 JANUARY 18 1859 MAY 15 1860" on top of barrel, 14-1/2 in. overall; second revolver is likely an artifact find, heavily rusted, missing components, of same make and configuration, makers stamp on top of barrel, indiscernible four number serial number on grip

first revolver functions mechanically, metal components with some pitting, light oxidation and handling wear, possible evidence of cleaning due to abrasions on right side of receiver, wooden grip with loss to right front toe and chips and wear to edges, hairline in grain at screw, second revolver in artifact condition

*Savage Model 1899 Lever Action Rifle .30 WCF cal. 23.75'' barrel S/N 50847. Brass cartridge counter tang sight. Condition: Good condition with a very good bore. The receiver has the name ''Reco'' engraved on the right side and a game scene on the left side featuring a bear and a deer. The engraving is very amateurish and there is no finish on the receiver. The barrel is made from a Rock Island Arsenal military model 1903 barrel dated 9-18. This gun should be checked by a competent gunsmith before attempting to shoot it. the wood is sanded and refinished with poor repairs.

Morris who served in the 8th Illinois Cavalry in October 1861 was promoted to captain in 1863 and was killed at Monocacy (Maryland) on July 7 1864.
